All Australian turtles kept indoors need both water heating and a heat lamp over their basking area. Depending on the species of turtle, the water should be at 22-26 Celsius and the temperature at the basking site should be 28-30 Celsius. With turtles kept outdoors it is important to ensure water temperature does not drop below 12 Celsius in the winter months.
