TURTLE DOCKS
All Australian turtles need a dry area to be able to bask on. Turtle Docks and Turtle Banks are generally the most common and easiest way to achieve this. Temperature at dock area should be at 28-30 Celsius and is achieved by placing a heat lamp above the dock.
Rocks and driftwood can also be used as a basking area but are better in larger tanks so that they do not take up too much of your turtles swimming area. Be careful when choosing a dock as ones with course surfaces or gravel stuck to glass can damage your turtles shells, especially if they are baby turtles.
