African and American Cichlids
Cichlids are fish. Most are found in Africa. There are different kinds of cichlids in the big African Lakes, particularly Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika and Lake Victoria. No other lake in the world has such a large variety of cichlids as Lake Malawi has. It is estimated there are over 1600 species of Cichlids in Africa. Other types of Cichlids are referred to as South American Cichlids. Central America and Mexico have around 120 species. They are all fresh water fish but prefer different water conditions, with Africans generally preferring a more Alkaline PH and Harder water (more salt) and South Americans a more neutral PH and softer water. Below are just a few of the different species we stock.
