Mulberry Chow Silkworm Food Instructions

Mulberry Chow Silkworm Food Instructions

1. Mix 280ml warm water to 100g dry chow in a large microwave safe container

2. Cover with plastic wrap, heat on high for 3 minutes in the microwave until it is hot and steamy.

3. Remove plastic wrap, stir well again and cover with plastic wrap-heat on high for an additional 2 minutes

4. Remove from microwave and stir.

5. Immediately place sheet of plastic wrap over the mixture, press so it clings directly to the surface of hot chow. This reduces condensation and helps keep chow sterile.

6. Place in refrigerator to cool. Once cooled and set chow is ready to use.

7. Just hatched Silkworms will require finely grated chow and piece sizes can get larger as the Silkworms grow

8. Cooked food keeps one month and dry food one year in airtight containers in the refrigerator.

Please Note: Silkworms previously reared on mulberry leaf may reject chow to begin with. To facilitate acceptance of chow ensure that all traces of mulberry leaf are removed from the breeding container.
Silkworms previously reared on chow will readily eat mulberry leaf.
