Roman Nose Goby (Awaous acritosus)
The Roman Nose Goby is a distinctive fish with a rounded snout profile and 8- 10 blackish blotches along the sides. Usually found in areas of gentle flow with sandy substrates into which they bury themselves, leaving only the eyes above the sand. Can grow up to 30 cm but are common at 15-20 cm.
These fish have been acclimatised to live in fresh water that is slightly harder and higher in pH (African Cichlid like water)
