Putting the correct type of light on top of your Aquarium is very important. Aquarium lights with the wrong spectrum of light can cause unsightly algae and can prevent your plants or coral from growing. Most lights should be changed at least every 12 months as although they may still emit light, the spectrum of light will have changed which can promote lots of algae growth. It is adviseable to have your aquarium lights on a timer also as leaving them on for too long will also cause algae issues. Be careful of some cheap China made light fixtures as the condensation caused by your aquarium will generally burn the ballast out very quickly. We only sell quality electrical fixtures that are 100% Australian approved.
